Transport Operator Role
Maritime Transport is seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team at our Felixstowe depot. As a Transport Operator, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our container transport services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple drivers and ensure timely delivery of containers
- Communicate effectively with ports and customers to resolve any issues
- Book delivery slots and monitor the progress of containers
- Use the TOPS system to track driver start and finish times, and chase drivers for ETAs
- Reroute jobs as needed to ensure efficient container movement
- Verify that all PODs are matched correctly with the system
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate any delays or issues
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Transport Operator is essential
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the business
