Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one of our excellent Secondary Schools in North Tyneside.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher to provide individualized support to the pupil, promoting their academic and personal growth. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, for the full Academic Year, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis, adapting to their individual needs and learning style.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the pupil, Class Teachers, and other school staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and deliver learning resources, activities, and lessons to engage the pupil and promote their progress.
  • Supervise the pupil during break times and lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Liaise with parents and outside agencies to discuss progress and share information.
Requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service) and a recognized Childcare-based qualification (although not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A resilient and proactive approach, with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the pupil and the school.
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
