About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our schools across Doncaster.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to students with varying needs, including SEMH, PMLD, and SLD. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure that students receive the best possible education and have equal opportunities to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that students with SEND are fully integrated into the classroom.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with challenging behavior, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and teachers to share best practices and ensure consistency in support provision.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans, working closely with teachers and other professionals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for working with students with SEND and a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Experience of working with students with varying needs, including SEMH, PMLD, and SLD.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEND.
  • A DBS check and the ability to subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
