Job Title: Lead Data and Analytics Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data and Analytics Engineer to join our team at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. As a key member of our data delivery team, you will be responsible for the delivery of complex data and analytics solutions, including the ingest of data from various sources into our analytics platforms and the production of data and analytics products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside our solution and data architects to deliver complex data and analytics solutions.
  • Manage a team of Senior, Mid, and Junior Level Data and Analytics Engineers and be involved in the recruitment and ongoing development of the team.
  • Design and lead the modelling, transformation, and cleansing of data into our enterprise data warehouse for consumption by technical and non-technical users.
  • Drive a data-first culture within the data team and across the business by supporting continual learning and development within your team and data enablement activity across the wider business.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in the development of data pipelines working with data from various sources, including different database platforms, flat files, APIs, and event-driven data feeds.
  • Experience working on the design and data modelling stages of data warehouse projects and comfort with conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling techniques.
  • Experience using cloud data warehouse technology, such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse, and working with key services on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, ideally using Scrum and/or Kanban, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
