Job Title: Acting Senior Support Worker

Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 6-month fixed-term contract

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Acting Senior Support Worker at our Downfield Housing Support Service in Glasgow. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring your team, providing regular support, and identifying training needs. You will also be responsible for producing monthly rotas, ensuring staff meet their contracted hours, and participating in on-call duties on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals with varying needs, including mental health, physical needs, learning disabilities, addiction, and forensic support needs
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing regular support and identifying training needs
  • Produce monthly rotas, considering budgetary requirements and ensuring staff meet their contracted hours
  • Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis
  • Liaise with external health professionals and facilitate meetings with supported individuals and important people in their lives to create accurate and effective person-centred support plans
  • Effectively match supported individuals with staff members, considering specific outcomes and goals set for each individual

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting individuals within care
  • Possession of a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload
  • Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or willingness to work towards qualification
  • Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate and lead others

Desirable:

  • Experience working with individuals who have autism and knowledge of positive behavior approaches to support
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle
