About the Role:


We are seeking a skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY UK LIMITED. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of SCADA systems, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of security and reliability.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will work closely with our customers and partners to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.


About the Responsibilities:



  • Lead the design and implementation of SCADA systems, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of security and reliability.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical solutions based on industry best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that specifications and guidelines are developed and used by our partners to ensure clear change handling.

About the Requirements:



  • 5+ years of experience working in the field of SCADA, Networking and Cyber Security.
  • Experience in Hitachi's product portfolio, but it is a merit if you have worked with competitor products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions.
  • Experience with network equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks) and redundant network designs and protocols.
  • Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems (virtual and bare metal) from legacy to current generations.
  • Experience with Active Directory and the different roles, integration with third-party devices and appliances.
  • Experience with databases and high-availability solutions.
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation technologies.
  • Experience with port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners, able to digest and communicate the output.

About the Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Engineering, M.Sc. in Electrical engineering, Computer Science or another relevant area.
