Senior PLC Systems Specialist - The Role:

Automation Experts Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior PLC Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our control systems department, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support for Schneider PLC control systems across various complex and high-speed packaging lines.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing remote and on-site service for Schneider PLC control systems
  2. Analysing problems, troubleshooting issues, optimising and extending software, and documenting processes
  3. Pre-commissioning of camera stations in the EU headquarters
  4. Commissioning (hard-/software) of applications or complete stations remotely or on site at our worldwide customers
  5. Conducting and documenting feasibility studies
  6. Carrying out customer training on site
  7. Working in close cooperation with project/sales managers and the control systems department

Senior PLC Systems Specialist - The Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar field, or advanced education with significant experience in automation and mechatronics
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in commissioning of PLC software, with the ability to fault find and amend as needed
  3. General knowledge of machinery automation
  4. Experience of medical and pharmaceutical automation essential

You should also have some knowledge and ability with Schneider PLCs, as 85-90% of our machinery is controlled by these systems.

This is a home-based role, with frequent travel required to work with clients across the UK. You will spend the first 2-3 months training in Germany, returning home every other weekend. Once trained, you can expect to spend 70-80% of your time travelling.
