Service & Commissioning Engineer - The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level service and commissioning of PLC control systems across various complex and high-speed packaging lines.

Your primary focus will be on analysing problems, troubleshooting issues, optimising and extending software, and documenting processes. You will also be responsible for pre-commissioning of camera stations, commissioning of applications or complete stations remotely or on-site at our worldwide customers, conducting and documenting feasibility studies, and carrying out customer training on site.

You will work closely with project/sales managers and the control systems department to ensure seamless execution of projects and excellent customer satisfaction.

Commissioning Engineer - The Person:

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar field, or advanced education with significant experience in automation and mechatronics. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in commissioning of PLC software is required, with the ability to fault-find and amend as needed.

You should have a general knowledge of machinery automation and experience of medical and pharmaceutical automation is essential. Familiarity with Schneider PLC's is also required, as 85-90% of our machinery is controlled by these systems.

This role requires extensive travel, with a significant amount of time spent working away with clients across the UK. You will spend the first 2-3 months training in Germany, returning home every other weekend. Once trained, you can expect to spend 70-80% of your time travelling.

This is a home-based role, and you should be in easy reach of an international airport and the motorway network. All respondents to this position must be eligible to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis.
