Aston Martin F1 Team: Model Maker Position

We are seeking an experienced Model Maker to join our team in the Model Shop, working night shifts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of model making for high-level motorsport environments.

This is a challenging opportunity to contribute to the manufacture, assembly, and testing of components for our wind tunnel test program, ensuring all aerodynamic and race car requirements are met to the highest standard.

About the Role:
  • The Model Maker will be responsible for producing components for the wind tunnel test program, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • The role involves supporting weekend wind tunnel sessions on a rotating basis, identifying potential part shortages or quality concerns.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills, as well as strong organisational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manufacture, assemble, and test components for the wind tunnel test program.
  2. Ensure all aerodynamic and race car requirements are met to the highest standard.
  3. Support weekend wind tunnel sessions on a rotating basis.
  4. Identify potential part shortages or quality concerns and report these issues to Model department leads.
  5. Prepare parts for wind tunnel sessions with meticulous attention to detail.
  6. Actively participate in meetings and contribute proactively.
Attributes Required:
  • Demonstrated experience in the manufacture of wind tunnel models and aero testing components using various manufacturing processes.
  • Previous wind tunnel testing experience is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently.
