Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our team at Amblescroft North. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in the development and delivery of clinical care within our Inpatient Team.

Main Duties

1. Clinical Practice Management

  • Undertake comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans in consultation with service users.
  • Carry out clinical audits to evaluate and improve clinical services in partnership with service users.
  • Administer medication within relevant Trust and legislative guidelines.
  • Implement research-based practice and supervise junior and unqualified staff.

2. Teaching, Education & Health Promotion

  • Provide mentoring opportunities for staff and promote positive attitudes towards mental health.
  • Function as a preceptor and mentor to new staff, enabling their full integration into the service.

3. Continuing Professional Development

  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure practice reflects best practice.
  • Take responsibility for post-registration education and continuing professional development.

4. Finance and Workforce

  • Make best use of available workforce resources based on agreed staffing models.
  • Take part in PEAT and environmental risk assessments to ensure best use is made of resources.

5. Record Keeping and Administration

  • Maintain and enforce standards of record keeping and associated administration.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Controls Assurance Standards relating to Records Management.

6. Evidence-Based Nursing, Practice Development & Clinical Audit

  • Undertake relevant practice development and research activity.
  • Take part in a rolling programme of audit to ensure evidence-based practice.

7. Professional Nursing Advice

  • Contribute to providing professional nursing advice within the post-holder's area of responsibility.
