Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic and business planning advice to Service Line and Care Group Management teams.

Main Responsibilities

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing financial guidance and support to Service Line and Care Group Management teams to ensure cost-effective decision making.
  • Investigating complex financial queries and carrying out regular analytical reviews of Service Line financial positions.
  • Interpreting financial data and providing advice on financial risks to ensure budgets are achievable and owned by Service Line Managers and Budget Holders.
  • Assisting and advising Service Line Management Teams in the execution of plans to achieve performance targets set out in the Trust's Annual Plan.
  • Overseeing the accuracy and integrity of Service Line financial information relating to service line reporting and reference costs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Highly developed theoretical and practical knowledge of financial management, accounting procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Recent Continuing Professional Development, including specialist training and experience relating to NHS Finance and national accounting standards.
  • CCAB or equivalent Professional Qualified Accountant with current registration and relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Excellent level of numeracy and ability to deduce key points from large volumes of data.
