Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animal Care Officer to join our team at Public Sector Recruitment. As a Kennel & Transport Officer, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of dogs in our Council facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care and Management of Dogs: Ensure the health and well-being of all dogs in our facilities, including providing daily exercise and ensuring their living conditions are clean and safe.
  • Transportation of Dogs: Safely transport dogs to and from our facilities, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintenance of Kennels: Clean and maintain the kennels to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the dogs.
  • Handling of Aggressive Dogs: Handle aggressive and dangerous dogs with care and caution, using protective equipment as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience working in a kennel environment, handling dogs of various breeds, and transporting animals safely.
  • Skills: Ability to work with minimum supervision, in all weather conditions, and with a clean driving license.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Working Conditions:

This is a shift-pattern role, including weekends and evenings, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.25 (subject to review after 3 months). The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide references.
