Job Title: Lead Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team on a major project located near Newbury.

Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of discipline engineers and/or engineering design subcontractors. This will involve planning of work activities, estimates and schedules, and reporting of progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and coordinate technical risk management activities, including risk management strategy and planning, risk identification and assessment, risk mitigation, and risk register production and maintenance.
  2. Coordinate the management of requirements, including understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements identification, configuration control, validation and verification.
  3. Manage and coordinate the development of engineering delivery baselines, including scope definition, input to project management deliverables, and project execution plan/engineering execution plan.
  4. Coordinate oversight of project delivery and project reporting, including rules of credit, progress monitoring and reporting, and recovery planning.
  5. Engage with and oversee delivery partners and supply chain organisations, including specification of engineering and technical requirements, technical assessment of tenders, management of TQs and concessions, and management of supply chain deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Professional membership of a relevant chartered body (MICE) is preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a complex/major project engineering delivery environment, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity managing a CS&A engineering delivery team, including management of engineering supply chain organisations.
