Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Wellbeing Specialist to join our team in Kendal. As a specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.

About the Role:

This is a fixed-term contract until end of March 2025, with potential to extend subject to funding. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, based in Kendal, with regular travel across the South Cumbria locality.

You will be responsible for delivering brief interventions via one-to-one wellbeing sessions and therapeutic group work, focusing on emotional literacy and regulation. Our approach emphasizes a blended mix of digital and face-to-face sessions, maintaining active engagement on safeguarding matters, and ensuring accurate recording for reporting purposes.

Requirements:
  • Experience in delivering direct emotional support to children and young people, both individually and in groups.
  • A caring and approachable manner that fosters safe and trusting relationships with clients.
  • An awareness of emotional challenges and their impact on children and young people's lives.
  • A comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent development and the role of families in supporting emotional wellbeing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of children's safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • The ability to adapt and deliver support through multiple methods, including face-to-face, phone, or video calls.
  • Case management experience and a clear understanding of professional and accurate case note requirements.
