Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist Blood Transfusion Specialist

We are seeking an experienced HCPC Registered Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Transfusion Laboratory team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management, quality, and training within the Blood Transfusion department, alongside general leadership duties directed by the Lead BMS. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and developing teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma centre, neurosurgery, haematology, obstetrics, neonatology, paediatrics, cardiothoracics, orthopaedics, and other specialties.
Main Duties- Responsible for the daily management, quality, and training within the Blood Transfusion department.
- Supervising Biomedical Scientists, trainees, and MLAs, including training of junior staff completing their Registration & Specialist Portfolios.
- To practice as a Senior Specialist HCPC Registered BMS to provide a high-quality service.
- The individual will be expected to apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge to provide a high-quality and timely result service.
- The successful candidates must be HCPC registered and have obtained a MSc Biomedical Sciences Degree and the BBTS qualification as well as demonstrating a high level of knowledge and commitment aimed at maintaining and developing a quality service in their specialisation.
