Database Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank. As a Database Engineer, you will play a critical role in the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Monitor and resolve IT infrastructure and system performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define IT infrastructure requirements and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and similar database technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools, such as Code versioning (git), JIRA, Ansible, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of database administration, data migrations, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and drive creative solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
