Job Title: Academic Board Member

Cumbria CVS is a leading infrastructure organisation that supports voluntary sector organisations in Cumbria. As an Academic Board Member, you will play a crucial role in enabling the staff to offer valuable support to these organisations, while coordinating and implementing projects aligned with their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Enable and promote Cumbrian voluntary sector organisations
  2. Leadership of Cumbria CVS in line with its charitable objects, policies, and as directed by the Board of Trustees
  3. Develop, in conjunction with Trustees, the strategic direction and financial sustainability for Cumbria CVS
  4. Lead the Senior Management Team to deliver strategic and operational plans, within charity and other relevant laws and best practice
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strategic leadership and management experience
  • Strong understanding of the voluntary sector and its challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners
  • Knowledge of charity law and governance
