Strategic Planning Lead

Gleeson is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Lead to join their team. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the planning department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the Planning Director at internal and external meetings, managing the planning function in their absence, and assuming line management responsibility for new members of the Planning Department.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of relevant National and Local Planning Policy changes. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in Town or Spatial Planning or a similar relevant degree with a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Planning Director at internal and external meetings as required.
- Manage the planning function in the Planning Director's absence.
- Assume line management responsibility for new members of the Planning Department.
- Assist the Planning Director in allocating new sites for site assessment in support of the Land Department.
- Work closely with the R & A Department on Local Plan representations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A master's degree in Town or Spatial Planning or a similar relevant degree with a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A driving licence is essential.
Salary: The salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
