Role Overview

At Legal & General, we're seeking a skilled Initial Risk Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you'll play a crucial role in assessing and documenting life and disability risks for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer applications to identify risk factors and assess whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection applications.
  • Accurately assess and document life and disability risks by reviewing applications and deciding which terms, if any, can be offered.
  • Ensure any requests for further information are appropriate and accurate and commensurate with the risk being assessed.
  • Identify complaints and escalate to an authorised complaints handler to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements.
