Job Description:


We are seeking an experienced Livestock Operations Coordinator to join our team at our Gloucester site. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating operations in the lairage, including animal welfare, receipt of animals, movement of animals, communication with farmers and haulers, organisation of staff and communication with Department staff on site.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate daily operations in the lairage, ensuring efficient and safe working practices
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to develop and implement operational strategies
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service skills, both internally and externally
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required

Requirements:


The ideal candidate will have:


Essential Criteria:



  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with and handling livestock (cattle)
  • Knowledge of animal welfare standards and legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria:



  • Animal Welfare Training Certificate
  • 3rd level education in an agricultural discipline

Estimated Salary:


£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience


Working Hours:


Monday to Friday, 06:30 - 16:30, with up to 6 Saturday operations annually
