Quality Assurance Auditor

We're a leading manufacturer of convenience food in the UK, and our purpose is to make every day better. Our vibrant, fast-paced food manufacturing environment employs around 13,600 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots across the UK. We supply all the UK's food retailers with a wide range of products, from sandwiches and soups to cooking sauces and ready meals.

Our direct-to-store distribution network enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Auditor to join our team on the night shift on a 3-month fixed-term contract.

  1. Assist in the production of safe food that meets customer specifications and legal requirements by ensuring the effective operations of agreed procedures through regular auditing.
  2. Work Sunday to Thursday nights, 22:00-06:00.
  3. Sample, test, audit, and monitor to verify that all processes, procedures, and products are being manufactured in a safe and compliant manner.
  4. Complete all necessary documentation, ensuring it's accurate and ready for internal and external audits, and highlight when non-conformance requires corrective action.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with the team and other relevant functions, ensuring they're fully aware of quality assurance results.
  6. Collect all relevant samples (products, swabs, water samples, etc.), adhering to procedures and protocols, to ensure quality, safety, and legality of products sampled.
  7. Provide technical support and advice to operational staff and other teams to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards, seeking guidance and advice from QA Area Leaders/Technical Manager where necessary.
  8. Ensure a safe working environment exists for all employees and that the department meets the standards set out in the safety, health, and environment policy.
  9. Test the traceability of finished product for legal compliance audits, customer complaints, and out-of-specification micro investigations.
  10. Communicate effectively between the team, shifts, and all other functions.
  11. Incident report writing, collection, and presentation of data.
  12. Undertake project work as part of the technical team.
What we're looking for:
  1. Previous experience in a technical/QA role within food manufacturing is essential.
  2. Computer literacy.
  3. Internal Audit Process.
  4. CCP training, including HACCP principles for Manufacturing Unit.
