Join Horizon Care & Education as a Teaching Assistant

Horizon Care and Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Arise Academy in Croydon. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and social development of our students, aged 11-19, who have additional learning difficulties.

Our students thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment, where they can feel confident about their future. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualized support, enabling our students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in their educational and social development
  • Provide support inside and outside the classroom, facilitating engagement in a wide range of activities
  • Help set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs
  • Support teachers, engage with students, provide learning support, and react to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner
  • Work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, providing the time and support they need to learn
