English Teacher Opportunity

Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate English teacher to join our team at a specialist school for students with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience working in SEN settings and a QTS in English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3 students with SEMH needs.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies to make English accessible and relevant for all students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching methods as needed.

Individual Student Support:

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide personalised interventions and support to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic goals.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of experience working in a SEN or SEMH setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.
  • A valid DBS certificate.
  • Additional qualifications related to SEN or SEMH (desirable).
