About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support Worker to join our Housing & Independence Service team at Doncaster Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting care experienced young people to achieve independence and thrive in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with young people to develop and implement personalized support plans to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of programs and services that promote the well-being and independence of care experienced young people.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of the Housing & Independence Service.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with care experienced young people and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Knowledge of the care system and the needs of care experienced young people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
