About the Role

The Powys CAMHS School In-Reach Service is seeking a skilled mental health professional to join our team. As a School Mental Health Specialist, you will work closely with schools to support learners through a Whole School Approach to emotional health and wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to school staff on mental health and wellbeing issues.
  • Deliver training to professionals on emotional health and wellbeing topics.
  • Work with schools to develop and implement strategies to promote emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Powys CAMHS School In-Reach Team and CAMHS Services.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures related to mental health and wellbeing in schools.

Requirements

  • Registered Healthcare Professional such as a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience of working with children and young people to support emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
