Design Manager – Landscaping Components & Street Furniture

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Swanley Office

Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our commercial landscaping team, you will be responsible for coordinating the hard landscaping and construction elements of our project designs with both the capabilities of our materials suppliers and the expectations of our clients.

The Job:

Our company tends to win large commercial landscaping projects valued at between £250,000 and £3 million. Our tenders are based on design drawings created by our clients' landscape architects. The architects' drawings will include many innovative and bespoke features, including stone and steel work, street furniture, and specialist finishes. You will work closely with our project consultants, project managers, site managers, and quantity surveyors to ensure that our designs are delivered on time and within budget.

As a Design Manager, you will also be responsible for reviewing our projects to identify opportunities for cost savings. This may involve substituting materials or designing features that are easier to install or transport. Your goal will be to deliver high-quality designs that meet our clients' needs while also ensuring that our projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The Person:

We are looking for an experienced product designer with a strong background in hard landscaping and construction detailing. You should have a good understanding of engineering and product design principles, as well as excellent graphic skills and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, or Revit. If you have experience working in the street furniture, play equipment, or metal fabrication sectors, that would be a bonus.
