Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Support Worker. As a key member of our Social Inclusion team, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with clients to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans to help them maintain their tenancies and achieve their goals.
  • You will mediate and negotiate with housing providers to prevent homelessness and ensure clients have access to suitable accommodation.
  • You will provide advice and guidance on housing, welfare benefits, and other related issues to help clients achieve stability and independence.
  • You will work with clients to develop practical skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and household management, to help them maintain their tenancies and improve their overall well-being.
  • You will liaise with local agencies, colleges, and employers to help clients access education, training, and employment opportunities.

Requirements

  • You will have a passion for working with homeless individuals and a commitment to providing person-centred support.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • You will have a good understanding of the benefits system and tenancy legislation, as well as knowledge of local agencies and services.
  • You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of clients and the service.
