We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at Smile Education. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to neurodiverse pupils aged 11-19 with complex profiles.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering all aspects of teaching and learning to meet the needs of our neurodiverse pupils. You will work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Education Practitioners to differentiate curriculum delivery and devise Individual Education and Behaviour Plans to reflect the development needs of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our neurodiverse pupils
  • Work collaboratively with the Therapeutic Education Practitioners to differentiate curriculum delivery and devise Individual Education and Behaviour Plans
  • Produce progress reports on individual pupils, statistics, and regular updates to the SLT
  • Use positive reinforcement as a key behaviour management tool
  • Maintain good personal and professional boundaries
  • Ensure risk assessments are in place
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years qualified teaching experience either in the primary or SEND sector
  • SEND qualifications or training
  • Recent primary, SEND, or nurture-related teaching experience
  • Knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures
  • Working knowledge of National Curriculum and SEND Code of Practice
