Job Title: Mechanical Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Travail Employment Group. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our organization.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, with a bonus structure and pension scheme. You will also receive 28 days' annual leave.

Location: Our office is based in Bristol BS30, and you will be required to travel to various locations throughout the area.

Hours: The standard working week is 40 hours, with overtime opportunities available. On average, you can expect to work around 50 hours per week.

Duration: This is a permanent position, offering stability and career progression opportunities.

About the Role:

  1. You will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs, servicing, fitting, and installation duties primarily at customer sites but also in our workshop.
  2. Changing bearings, rollers, and motors at site locations and facilities is an essential part of this role.
  3. The ability to read basic engineering drawings is preferred, and knowledge of conveyors or similar types of production machinery or mechanical material handling equipment is of particular interest.
  4. You will liaise in person with customers, providing a professional and responsible point of contact.
  5. Working and travelling individually or sometimes in a team of two is a key aspect of this role.
  6. A full driving licence is required, and a transit van will be provided for your use.
  7. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary, but these will be fully expensed and accompanied by an overnight allowance.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience working with and/or servicing mechanical machinery or equipment is essential.
  2. Knowledge of conveyors or similar types of production machinery or mechanical material handling equipment would be beneficial.
  3. Engineering qualifications are desirable but not essential if a suitable work history can be demonstrated.
  4. Experience within a Service Engineering or production environment with mechanical fitting and repair/maintenance or transferable skills is highly valued.
  5. A current and full driving licence is mandatory.
