We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Winchester. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of individualized treatment plans.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive assessments and developing individualized recovery plans for patients with substance misuse issues.
  • Delivering a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions, in both group and one-to-one settings.
  • Monitoring therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, and liaising with prescribers.
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support for patients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Nursing (Mental Health) and a RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake this.
  • Experience of working with patients with substance misuse issues, preferably in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
