About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at St Peters Hospital in Newport, South Wales.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a medical professional with strong clinical skills and experience in providing high-quality psychiatric assessments and care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and participate in strategic development of the service
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and be responsible for patients under their care
  • Conduct timely and thorough psychiatric assessments of patients referred to the service

Our hospital has a patient-centred ethos and provides specialist treatment and nursing care for individuals with degenerative neuropsychiatric conditions and Acquired Brain Injury.

Our Service

We provide care for four core patient groups: Dementia, Huntington's Disease, Korsakoff's Syndrome, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and Organic Personality Disorder. We also offer treatment to informal patients, those detained under the Mental Health Act, and those undergoing treatment under the Mental Capacity Act.

Location and Requirements
