The Role

As a Multi-Trade Building Services Professional, you will be responsible for delivering maintenance across all aspects of building fabric, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, and roofing.

Day-to-day, you will undertake pre-preventive, repair, corrective, and reactive maintenance tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing maintenance support, including installations in relation to site services, plant, equipment, and buildings
  • Delivering specialist technical maintenance support and services in relation to building plant equipment
  • Forming part of the on-call rota within the maintenance team
  • Ensuring robust application of health, safety, and environmental procedures and processes
  • Overseeing the conduct of contractors on site, monitoring the implementation and performance of tasks allocated, including Service Level Agreements (SLA) dependencies
  • Ensuring maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and based at our Shoeburyness site.

Essential experience of the Multi-Trade Building Services Professional:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Tradesperson, proficient in fault finding and diagnostic abilities on components
  • Reactive and corrective maintenance experience, as well as planned maintenance to SFG20 standards
  • Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis
  • Must be able to demonstrate a full and thorough understanding of operational health and safety and safe working practices
  • Understanding SLAs, service targets, objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Competent computer skills, using word processing and communication software such as MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, MS Teams) and capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications of the Multi-Trade Building Services Professional:

  • Relevant C&G, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 in a Plumbing, Carpentry, Plastering, or Roofing discipline
  • Full and clean (UK) valid driving licence

Many roles in QinetiQ are subject to national security vetting being completed. Applicants who already hold the appropriate level of vetting may be able to transfer it upon appointment. A number of roles are also subject to additional restrictions, which means factors such as nationality or previous nationalities may affect the roles that you can be employed in.
