Job Title: Archaeology and Heritage Consultant or Senior Consultant

The Cultural Heritage and Archaeology team at WSP is a leading heritage consultancy in the UK and Ireland, working on high-profile and large-scale infrastructure projects. We provide expert advice on heritage-related enquiries, addressing the management of change in our historic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver archaeology projects in the northern half of the country, focusing on fieldwork projects.
  • Lead fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications, developing bespoke archaeological strategies and works for developments and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and assure the work of subcontractors, reviewing deliverables and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Apply robust knowledge of Irish archaeology and history, as well as planning processes and environmental/heritage legislation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to innovative approaches and challenges within the heritage sector.
Requirements:
  • Experience in archaeological fieldwork project management, including project, financial, and staff management.
  • Excellent writing skills and communication abilities, with a strong team player attitude.
  • A highly motivated, efficient, and conscientious approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines and budget within a busy consultancy environment.
