Job Opportunity for Theatre Practitioner - Scrub

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Theatre Practitioner - Scrub to join our team at a private hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of individualised care and ensuring the smooth operation of theatre procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure continuity of clinical practice
  • Assisting surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals as required
  • Acting as a member of the surgical scrub team, either as a scrub or circulating practitioner
  • Co-operating with staff to ensure correct positioning of patients for operative procedures
  • Co-operating with staff to ensure prompt collection and dispatch of specimens
  • Checking, witnessing, and administering controlled drugs
  • Co-operating with departmental and ward staff in sending patients to the operating department and returning them to their wards
  • Participating in pre and postoperative visits when required

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a theatre scrub role
  • Experience of working in the independent sector
  • Evidence of clinical competence and regular clinical practice
  • Demonstrated awareness of the importance of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate with patients and carers in an empathetic manner
