Job Opportunity for Theatre Practitioner - Scrub

An exceptional private hospital in Chelmsford, Essex, is seeking a dedicated Theatre Practitioner - Scrub to join their team. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of individualized nursing/ODP care, liaising with colleagues, and providing assistance to surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing/ODP colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the highest standards of individualized nursing/ODP care according to PHG Policies and Practice and Clinical Guidelines
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure continuity of clinical practice
  • Provide assistance to the surgeon/anaesthetist/nursing/ODP colleagues as required
  • Act as a member of the surgical scrub team either as a scrub or circulating practitioner
  • Cooperate with appropriate surgical staff to ensure correct positioning of the patient for operative procedures
  • Cooperate with appropriate staff to ensure prompt collection and dispatch of specimens
  • Check, witness, and administer controlled drugs
  • Cooperate with appropriate departmental and ward staff in sending patients to the operating department and returning patients to their wards
  • Participate in pre and postoperative visits when required
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a theatre scrub role
  • Experience of working in the independent sector
  • Evidence of clinical competence and regular clinical practice
  • Demonstrated awareness of the importance of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and in electronic formats
  • Communicate with patients and carers in an empathetic manner
