The Role
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing plant in the Waimakariri district. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency of the plant by identifying, designing, developing, implementing, and commissioning engineering solutions to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project safety, eliminating accidents and equipment damage
- Provide technical solutions to deliver high-quality systems, ensuring uptime and productivity targets
- Identify opportunities for automation, develop budgets, and control costs and resources
- Ensure compliance with engineering, company, and statutory standards
- Lead stakeholders during plant maintenance or breakdowns
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in electrical or automation engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, designing and commissioning electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process control systems
- Proficiency in programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar), CAD, SCADA, SQL, and ethernet network knowledge
- Project management qualification (PRINCE2 or equivalent) an advantage
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
