Job Description: Paediatric Clinical Co-ordinator 

Are you a skilled paediatric nurse with a passion for leadership and patient care? We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Paediatric Clinical Co-ordinator at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.



Role Overview

The Paediatric Clinical Co-ordinator will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality patient care across the Paediatric Unit. As a senior nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of patient care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care and treatment.



Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:




  • Ward Co-ordinator role: The post holder will be based on Ward 16, which is our children's ward, caring for children aged 2-12 years. Ward 16 is an acute medical and surgical ward specialising in Paediatric oncology.
  • Supernumerary Paediatric Band 6 Co-ordinator: The postholder will lead and support the clinical team through clinical expertise, professional advice, guidance, and education.


As a Paediatric Clinical Co-ordinator, you will have a high level of Paediatric clinical experience and knowledge gained through registration, continuous professional development, and post-registration courses. You will be an effective facilitator, able to exercise complex levels of judgment and decision-making.



Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A minimum of one year's experience as a Band 6
  • Successful completion of the European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) course
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A motivated and enthusiastic approach to patient care
  • Ability to work flexibly and lead a team
