Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Physiotherapy department, you will be responsible for providing professional leadership and guidance to our team of physiotherapists.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide professional leadership and guidance to the Physiotherapy team, influencing national policy and strategies and holding professional responsibility for establishing, ensuring and governing standards.
  • To act as the link between DHCFT and the Chartered Society for Physiotherapy (CSP) professional body, addressing professional issues relevant to and affecting the Physiotherapy profession in DHCFT.
  • To ensure the overarching guidance for safe, effective, patient-centered and high-quality direct patient care, consistent and equitable across all care groups in DHCFT.
  • To be accountable for the governance and oversight of patient care for the Physiotherapy profession within the area of responsibility, clinical governance, equity, implementation of evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, research and development.
  • To contribute to the collective AHP perspective through working in partnership within the AHP Committee group.

Requirements

  • HPC registration
  • Physiotherapy leadership experience
  • CSP membership
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working as a specialist clinical physiotherapist

Desirable Criteria

  • Member of professional network groups
  • Masters-level qualification or working towards/willing to undertake

Skills

  • Proven facilitation skills in relation to workforce issues and complaints
  • High level of communication skills able to present complex, sensitive or contentious information to a large group of staff or members of the public
  • Ability to adopt necessary leadership styles depending on the context. Effective negotiation and influencing skills.

Knowledge

  • Experience of leading a team through transformation
  • Experience of leading complaints resolution
