Job Title: Clinical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our team at the NHS, providing technical and scientific MRI support to the Trust and external customers.

Main Duties:
  • Provide expert scientific advice and support for the MRI services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
  • Develop and implement multiple aspects of the MR physics service, including MR safety advice, site planning, procurement, protocol development, acceptance testing, QA, complex clinical scan support, teaching, and training.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including radiographers, radiologists, clinicians, cardiac physiologists, and cardiologists, to deliver high-quality MRI services.
Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for the work of other physicists and related staff, directing their work as required.
  • Develop effective working relationships with senior clinical staff in the Trust and other staff within the department.
  • Lead, develop, and plan selected technical and scientific services relating to the MRI equipment at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
  • Participate in the initiation, development, planning, and direction of Research and Development activity within the group.
  • Teach and train NHS staff in basic and advanced MRI physics, techniques, applications, and safety.
Person Specification:
  • Good (1st or 2nd class) honours degree in physical sciences.
  • HCPC clinical scientist registration.
  • MSc in medical physics or equivalent.
