Senior Structural Engineer

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and overseeing scheme designs, reports, and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and time and budgetary allocations. You will also conduct structural inspections and undertake and oversee structural assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by producing, developing, and overseeing sound bridge design, assessment, and maintenance solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale.
  • Develop and design solutions in accordance with National design standards, procedures, and requirements and any specific parameters.
  • Produce or oversee scheme documents and reports.
  • Contribute to compliance with the Quality Management Systems, including site-specific audits.
  • Develop and oversee designs that comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements within the workplace, ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Contribute to the regular reporting of progress to clients by communicating with line managers regarding their progress against planned programme.
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of staff to grow organically.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE, or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar role within Highways
  • Proven experience of bridge design standards and analysis
  • Previous experience of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges preferred but not essential
  • Management and delivery of projects to programme and budget constraints
