Job Overview

Randstad UK Holding is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Design Solutions Structures office, you will be responsible for producing and overseeing scheme designs, reports, and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and time and budgetary allocations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridge design standards and analysis, with experience in a similar role within Highways. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with line managers to deliver projects to programme and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by producing, developing, and overseeing sound bridge design, assessment, and maintenance solutions.
  • Develop and design solutions in accordance with National design standards, procedures, and requirements.
  • Produce or oversee scheme documents and reports, ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of staff to grow organically and contribute to the regular reporting of progress to clients.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE, or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar role within Highways
  • Proven experience of bridge design standards and analysis
  • Previous experience of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges preferred but not essential
