Be Free Young Carers seeks a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young carers, preferably in a similar capacity. We're looking for someone who can build strong relationships with schools, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to the overall mission of Be Free Young Carers.

In this position, you will:

  • Work closely with our youth work team to develop and deliver programs tailored to the needs of young carers;
  • Provide individualized support to young carers, addressing their unique challenges and concerns;
  • Collaborate with schools to establish Young Carers Groups and introduce Young Carer Leads into their settings;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups and organizations serving young carers;
  • Make significant contributions towards awareness-raising events and activities;
  • Engage in assessments of young carers, working closely with colleagues and external agencies;
  • Encourage active participation among young carers, ensuring their voices are heard;
  • Support young carers and their families in accessing services and resources;
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of casework contact information and relevant documentation;
  • Maintain adherence to Be Free Young Carers' policies, including safeguarding and child protection;
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging content for young carers and their families;
  • Stay informed about national and local policy regarding safeguarding children and vulnerable adults;
  • Monitor and evaluate work, producing records and reports as required;
  • Support a positive and inclusive working environment;
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as needed;
  • Provide regular updates to Trustees and other stakeholders;
  • Support the promotion and publicizing of Be Free Young Carers;
  • Represent Be Free Young Carers at external events and gatherings.

This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements available, including part-time and term-time only options. Funding has been secured for a year, with potential for extension based on performance.
