Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Company to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a traveling role around their UK sites.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role comes with a competitive salary of up to £75k plus a benefits package that includes 12% pension, private medical, and a car for business needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Asset Support & Outage Team Leader, you will:

  1. Work with the site teams on outages, managing a scope of work and ensuring it is completed in a timely manner.
  2. Manage your own scope of work, including working on mechanical equipment such as Boilers, Turbines, HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators), and associated plant.
  3. Execute site mechanical projects safely and within budget.
  4. Develop asset management strategies.
  5. Identify areas of improvement across the plant to increase efficiency.
  6. Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the correct quality within the environmental limits of the station.
  7. Direct and supervise on-site contractors.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering in a heavy process environment.
  3. Significant experience working with specific equipment including HRSG / Boiler / Welding.
  4. A safety qualification such as IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent.
