Astute's Power Team Partners with Leading UK Power Company

We are partnering with a leading power company in the UK to recruit a Mechanical Strategy Engineer for its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) site in Kent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engineering and maintenance strategies to achieve measured station performance.
  • Assess critical plant and use reliability centred maintenance techniques to review and optimise maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement plans and conduct root cause analysis as required.
  • Develop medium- and long-term improvement and investment strategies, including plant outage strategy and major parts replacements.
  • Manage the site's Asset Risk database and mentor other strategy engineers.
  • Design and deliver complex projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and quality standards.
  • Lead reviews for plant modification and coordinate technical design reviews and approval.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a maintenance environment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • A broad understanding of power station operations, specifically Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT).
  • Ideally hold an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
Personal Skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or individually.
  • Planning and organisational skills to prioritise jobs and manage resources.
