**Job Overview**

New Directions Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and skilled learning support specialist to work in a 'Good' rated SEND school located in Orrell.

This long-term role requires a compassionate and experienced individual to support children with Autism (ASD) and Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD). The successful candidate will work closely with students to create a positive, nurturing environment, helping them navigate their unique challenges and reach their full potential.

**Responsibilities**

  • Develop strong relationships with students and staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with children, encouraging their participation and engagement in learning activities.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being, including de-escalation and calming techniques.
  • Safeguard the safety and well-being of students, prioritizing their needs and providing consistent support.

**Requirements**

  • Experience working with children or adults with additional needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Able to support children of all abilities, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Positive and ambitious attitude towards learning, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
