About the Role:

Yourgene Health is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II to join our NGS/Next Generation Sequencing team at our Manchester Science Park facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, verifying and validating in vitro diagnostic products and services based on next generation sequencing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental design and execution with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-quality products and processes.
  • Provide scientific expertise and input into experiments and project work-packages.
  • Lead planning, execution and reporting of defined project experiments and work-packages.
  • Support troubleshooting activities and ensure compliance to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree or further degree in a life science such as molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics.
  • Typically 3-5+ years of relevant experience in the development, verification and validation of molecular diagnostic assays.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two molecular biology-based assays and techniques.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with ability to think analytically and troubleshoot.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively.
