Job Title: Cleaning Team Leader

Location: Capital One, Nottingham

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: £ per hour

Job Overview:

The Cleaning Team Leader will be responsible for assisting team members with Element usage, ensuring a good knowledge of the auditing tool and providing support to team members who require assistance on a daily basis.

In the absence of the supervisor, the Cleaning Team Leader will undertake the roles and responsibilities of shift management, assigning jobs for each shift, checking areas for completed work, maintaining the standard of work across all areas, assisting team members with help, completing shift tasks such as desk clearing, and ensuring all T&A devices have been synced for Ontime and Element.

The Cleaning Team Leader will be responsible for the upkeep of cleaning cupboards and hoovers, conducting weekly checks on all hoovers and cleaning cupboards, ensuring all hoovers are being used correctly, in working order, and stored in the correct place. The Cleaning Team Leader will also ensure all cleaning cupboards are clean and tidy, all equipment is present, and chemicals are returned to the COSHH cupboard in the signing in cupboard, with sign-off for cupboards being completed and replenished when full.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all work is completed to the expected high standard required by the manager.
  • Providing support and encouragement to fellow team members.
  • Maintaining a close relationship with the evening supervisor, participating in daily briefings with the evening supervisor to understand daily requirements.
  • Reporting any concerns or feedback from team members to the supervisor.
  • Maintaining constant communication with the supervisor through company-issued radios.
  • Assisting with the delivery of training, toolbox talks, and meetings.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Cleaning experience is essential.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, with good written and spoken English.
  • Basic IT skills are essential.
  • Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative.
  • Flexible and proactive attitude is essential.
  • Understanding and knowledge of health and safety policies.
  • Ability to represent ABM values on site by being presentable, uniformed, and helpful at all times, willing to go the extra mile.
  • Experience of coordinating a range of tasks and individuals.
  • Always following Company Policies and procedures.
  • Confirming that those under their supervision have received training appropriate to their needs and that safety considerations are integrated into this training.
  • Ensuring that the work environment and equipment are safe and well maintained.
  • Identifying and correcting hazardous conditions.
  • Monitoring compliance with risk assessments, enforcing control measures, and stopping anyone who fails to comply.

  • IOSHH Managing Working Safely.
  • First Aid Certificate.
