About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our Commercial and Regulatory team at Marshmallow. As a key member of our in-house legal team, you will play a crucial role in advising on commercial contracts, regulatory matters, and mitigating legal risks.

Your primary responsibilities will include negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, reviewing and updating procedures to ensure compliance within our regulatory framework, and advising on regulatory matters involving the FCA and other bodies.

You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our business teams to develop new products and launch in new jurisdictions, identifying relevant business, regulatory, and legal risks, and finding appropriate solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of commercial law, regulatory requirements, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts
  • Reviewing and updating procedures to ensure compliance within our regulatory framework
  • Advising on regulatory matters involving the FCA and other bodies
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks with current and future product offerings
Requirements
  • 2-4 years PQE
  • Experience working in either insurance or financial services is preferable
  • Ability to identify relevant business, regulatory, and legal risks and find appropriate solutions
