Aviation Claims Specialist

The Aviation Surveyor is a critical role within our team, responsible for handling aviation-related claims from notification to settlement. This exciting opportunity allows you to leverage your industry experience while transitioning into the Loss Adjusting world.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and initiate claims handling procedures for new claim instructions
- Conduct thorough investigations of loss circumstances and damages sustained at incident sites
- Liaise with official accident investigation agencies, airport authorities, and other relevant parties
- Evaluate and assess factors impacting Underwriters' potential exposure under the Policy of Insurance
- Regularly report to Underwriters and insurance practitioners on claim circumstances, damage, costs, and cause of loss
- Liaise with Insured to progress claims settlement
- Negotiate with repair agents, manufacturers, and third-party claimants regarding recovery, damage, and repair workscopes
- Provide technical advice to in-house liability teams and external lawyers on liability and subrogation issues
- Act as an expert witness in litigation and enquiries when necessary
- Offer general advice and assistance to Underwriters on policy condition interpretation
- Provide ad-hoc technical advice and expertise to the aviation insurance market
- Offer aircraft technical assessment and valuation services to the aviation market
- Conduct risk assessments
- Market Charles Taylor aviation services
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Prior experience as an aviation maintenance professional
- B1/B2 Licensed Engineer certification
- Desirable but not mandatory: AOG exposure
- Excellent communication and IT skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel
- A strong analytical mind with attention to detail
