About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our Inclusion and Engagement Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our positive action recruitment work, focusing on increasing diversity within our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with local communities and groups to promote the trust as an employer of choice.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community groups, voluntary organizations, and faith sector representatives.
  • Design and deliver presentations, workshops, and careers-focused sessions to engage local communities and promote the trust's employment opportunities.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to individuals and groups to improve their chances of obtaining employment within the trust.
  • Travel across a designated geographical area to support delivery of community engagement activities.
Requirements
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy, educated to A-level standard or Level 3 equivalent.
  • Community engagement and development skills, including experience of working with diverse communities.
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to hold sensitive and difficult conversations.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of diverse individuals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of HR recruitment processes and the ability to support the development of positive action initiatives.
